about

The album picks backup with some pop and pace with 1970s Disco King. The song was written after looking through some old Polaroids of past roommates that he’s collected over the years. One roommate in particular would join Romeo to dress up in ironic 1970s bell bottoms and big collared shirts and paint the town red. Another roommate was a football star in high school that just couldn’t cut it in college. Another was also his co-worker at a retail store. They started work at 4AM and would make games out of tackling mannequins before their manager would arrive. Each one had experienced bad breakups and hardships with their girlfriends, and were still holding onto a past time they would never get back. The 1970s Disco King is a combination of all of these roommates and their time with Romeo.

lyrics

Verse 1

Come back baby come back baby come back,
I want dance with you.
Billy slept walk into the room with his paper crown on, eating wonder bread,
He was a red-headed football superstar

Chorus

1970s Disco King.
He sang into the night,
Building champagne rockets with cardboard boxes.

He could fill them up, trash bags with hashtags

Verse 3

4 a.m. soy milk lattes and mannequin bodies,
get dressed he’s gonna go out tonight, oooh oooh
Creatine cowboy, kiss your queen goodnight, time to go for a ride,
He’s got that name lit up on the marquee lights

Chorus

1970s Disco King.
He sang into the night,
Building champagne rockets with cardboard boxes.

He could fill them up, trash bags with hashtags.
He was a 1970s Disco King.

Chorus

He was a 1970s Disco King.
He sang into the night,
Building champagne rockets with cardboard boxes.

He could fill them up, trash bags with hashtags.
He was a 1970s Disco King.

created viral rap videos about mustache rides to promote men’s health and now he’s
releasing his debut comedy rock album “Magnificent Man”. Think sexy Tenacious D
meets the modern Ween. The lyrics are hilarious and the music rocks.
